Energy Benefit of Liquid Desiccant-Assisted Humidification in Buildings during Winter Operation

The objective of this study was to modify an existing liquid desiccant and indirect/direct evaporative cooling-assisted 100% outdoor air system (LD-IDECOAS) for humidification operation in winter. energy benefit the desiccant-assisted approach during LD-IDECOAS over conventional method with a steam humidifier evaluated through detailed simulation. enthalpy effectiveness values measured from laboratory tests were 0.41 0.49, respectively, which applied simulation modified system. Both systems proposed approaches simulated using engineering equation solver combined TRNSYS 18 program. results demonstrated that consumes less compared humidifier. also exhibited considerable heating energy-saving potential. Consequently, consumed 42% primary winter after being humidification.
